Day Trip Ideas:

Option One: Starting From Auckland

  1. Morning tea at either Helensville, Albany Olive Press, or DD’s Country Cafe.
  2. Drive to Kaukapakapa, and check out the historic buildings and churches.
  3. Bring a picnic lunch, and have lunch at Kaipara Coast Plant Centre & Sculpture Gardens.
  4. Drive to Omeru Reserve, and have a walk and a swim in the reserve.
  5. Return to Kaukapakapa and have an ice cream at the Dairy, fish & chips at the Old Garage, or a meal at the Kaukapakapa Hotel.

Option Two: Starting From Auckland

  1. Walk around Kaipara Coast Plant Centre & Sculpture Gardens in the morning.
  2. Do a either a Kayak Trip on the Hoteo River with wild west kayaks (bookings essential), or, take the family for a pony ride with M&G Miniatures (bookings essential), or, take the family for a farm tour at the Kauri Villa (bookings essential).
  3. Return to Kaukapakapa and have an ice cream at the Dairy, fish & chips at the Old Garage, or a meal at the Kaukapakapa Hotel.
